$500 to Eat or Drink

Recently, the four of us went on an excursion so we needed to walk to the MRT station. By the time we boarded our train, Pit was thirsty from the heat and the walk. We gently reminded Pit of the incessant announcements stating, "Eating or drinking in stations and trains is not allowed. Eating or drinking in stations and trains is not allowed." There’s a $500 fine for offenders and no exceptions for children, the elderly or pregnant. So Pit was grumpy as well as thirsty and burst out that he didn’t like Singapore. He said, “I want to go back to Bruxelles so I can drink on the train!” But then Frunty chimed in, “No way! French school in Bruxelles is boring!” Frunty really likes his new school and isn’t looking back.
